Latest Project, Outdoor Survival Pants
So, some of you may know that i'm the type of person that makes alot of the stuff i use,
so the past week i was watching Bear Grylls on Man Vs Wild, and i saw the pants he was wearing, they were of a light material but with a stronger fabric where rubbing and extended wear and tear appears. like the Knees and butt,
the first thing that went through my mind, ' there epic, i could use those,' second thought ' I CAN MAKE MY OWN PAIR' .
so after the show had finished, i went through my clothes draw and found some old light pants that i could use for making them, next i went on to the bear Grylls official store website, sifted through it, and hello, i found what i was looking for :) http://www.beargryllsstore.com/buy/bear-survivor-trousers-regular-186063
so with this information i got some heavy duty fabric , which was actually some furniture swabs from freedom furniture, which is where one of my sisters works, i cut them up and layed them out, so i put them on my ass and the knees, i machine sewed some, and hand stitched the ones i couldn't get too with the machine, so that was that, i had basicly made a cheaper version of Bear Grylls outside Survival Trousers, i'm thinking of adding some extra pieces up along the inside of the shin.
So my trousers are done, now i want to go find a bush and get lost in it for a few nights :) i have a Friend whose family own a farm with a bush on it, i might ask him, and when i'm in the bush i am also going to do a little day by day video journal so you can see the progress as i go along, making a Bivouac home and living off the Killer Bush :) Any way back to the trousers, here's a few pictures
So here they are, pretty simple, but they should work.
cant wait to test them out :)

Past Weekend
This Past weekend was very busy for me, had my two Uncles Civil Union on the Saturday night, it was a great night, a'lot of laughs, it was held at a Thai restaurant down in Onehunga, for those who don't know,a Civil Union is a marriage for two of the same sex, it was good too see family from Christchurch.
So on the Sunday night (last night) i went to the Gengys Mongolian Buffet, in Northcote, for one of my Sisters Birthdays, she turned 25, so we celebrated by going out for dinner, (saves Dishes and Burnt Food), ;)

Gengys is an amazing Buffet, so many different types of food. and they cook it right in front of you, there really is only one rule of Gengys.... Watch your food when its cooking, you can easily lose it on the big joint Cooker, apart from the Brain game of 'Wheres my food', the food tastes great, especially the MICKEY MOUSE pancakes :) because thats talent right there, when you can make a mickey mouse pancake, you know you have done well.for all those interested in the place head over to this website AFTER you finish reading of course :P
i can honestly say, i'm really tired now, so i'm going to go relax, OH BY THE WAY!, Happy Fathers Day :)
any way, Congrats to my Uncles and Happy Birthday to Elizabeth.
